While in Rome you can choose from a lot of different types of accommodation at a very broad price ranges. If you want to stay at a place that is stylish, comfy and at a pretty central location you have to choose the Generator hostel.
Where is it: The location is quite central. It is very close to the main railway station called Termini and about 15 minutes walk to the famous Colosseum.
Just around the corner, there is Vittorio Emanuele metro and tram station. The red metro line will take you pretty close to all the main touristic attractions.
The neighborhood is quite international and you can stroll around shops with a unique goods and food.
The rooms: We stayed in a double room that was very spacious and nicely furnished. Although we had our windows facing the street and railway station it was very quiet at night.
In the room, you have a comfy bed, your own bathroom with all the necessities, a table, cloth hanger rack and a safe.
You can also choose from twin beds accommodation as well as a hostel style rooms with bunk beds.
Common areas: Right at the ground floor next to the reception there is a bar, that was very quiet even at the weekend. I am not sure if it is always this empty or if we just came at the wrong time.
Next to the elevators, you can find very nice breakfast/coffee deli. We had a sandwich and an overnight oatmeal and it was both very tasty. Also, the coffee was great, but hey.., in Italy the coffee is always great!
Pricing: The pricing is around €80 for a double room and as little as €20 for a small shared room. We paid for around €80 for two nights! It all depends on the season and unique deals that you can find while booking through third parties.
Overall: For the quality of the accommodation, the good location and the nice design of the hostel, that feels more like a hotel, it was a great bargain and I would stay there again without any doubt!
